Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.
I was a fourth grader in a private school when I came across this prayer the first time. I remember being amazed and thought “why doesn’t everyone just say this prayer and start saving everyone?”
Prayers are not magic spells to grant whatever our hearts desires, but are pleads to the Father for His goodness and mercy. Our pleads are heard by Him and pleasing to Him.
Praying for others is an act of love, and that is what we were created to do. We don’t know who we are praying for when we pray for the souls in Purgatory. I’m sure those who benefit from your prayers will not forget them and will pray for you as well.
In this chaotic and misled world, let us beg our Lord to forgive those who have gone before us, and that He might teach us how to love more selflessly during our time on earth.
